Summer holiday in the Dolomites– Sesto, dream excursions

When our guests come back from a long walk or excursion in the late afternoon, and go into our wellness oasis, we can tell by their faces we have not been promising too much. Whoever has taken an excursion holiday in the Dolomites – and in Sesto especially – cannot but come back. Sesto has one of the richest and most beautiful excursion networks of the whole South Tyrol: the excursions within the extraordinary flora and fauna of Sesto’s Natural Park, in ‘val Fiscalina’ or at the foot of the legendary ‘Tre Cime di Lavaredo’ will stir your enthusiasm. Once or twice a week, the house’s son-in-law Christian Schwienbacher, our registered Nordic-walking instructor, will guide you into the most fascinating areas of our land. Agnes Rainer, our senior house lady, will guide you on her “secret paths” to the most beautiful Alpine meadows in bloom. Personal care and assistance, for the individual is what matters here!

The Eldorado for active holiday lovers.
The idyllic mountain town in the Dolomites has much to offer to lovers of an active holiday: this is the ideal context for activities such as mountainbiking, trekking, climbing, Nordic-walking or gliding. Even golfers will find plenty of resources for them on either a driving range or a precision course with three bases in Sesto.

The Rainer family is available for your every need or desire, together with the Rainer’s Family resort team: we hire mountain bikes for excursions within Sesto’s mountains, we organise adventurous rafting expeditions, your gliding tandem flight or a course in Italy’s highest indoor climbing facility. Your children, assisted by our collaborators, will be busy with our fun and specialised daily programmes. But you can also programme a family day with all your children. So many different activities for you and them together in the mountains! Just ask for our tips and advice!

„God was South Tyrolean“, goes a local saying, referring to the numerous sunny days our land is blessed with! If, however, the weather should not be the best possible, we can offer endless interesting alternatives. We will take you to the local museums (such as the Rudolf Stolz museum, the Dolomites War front museum, the Popular Culture museum) or, alternatively, to the fascinating castles and fortresses (very amusing for children) in the surroundings (Lienz, Monguelfo, Campo Tures). We organise afternoon slideshows on the history of Sesto and evening projection of great films, but also tours to Venice (2 hours away), Cortina (40 mins) and Bolzano (1 ½ hours). No time for boredom!
